ACEOs
I think I can’t have a blog without talking about one of my currently favorite mediums for art – ACEOs. Short for Art Cards Editions and Originals, ACEOs are one of a kind original artworks that artists either trade with each other, or sell to non-artist collectors! And in all that, ACEOs only have one main requirement:
They must be 2.5 x 3.5 inches, roughly the size of a baseball card.
And that’s it. You can use watercolors, acrylics, pencils, charcoal, colored pencils, collages, pastels, oil paints, digital (although some people aren’t quite sure what would distinguish an ‘original’ print from a reproduction of the print) and other kinds of media combinations that you can think of.
I’m hoping to eventually make a weekly habit of posting some pretty ACEOs I’ve found and liked, so stay tuned for those!
Next week’s theme: nature. If you know of, or have an ACEO artwork falling under this theme, please comment! I’ll be choosing from the list of commenters and featuring them at next blog entry!
