Pop Crochet: Twilight – Jacob Black

Better late than never, ey?

But well, you will have to thank my friends who happen to be extreme Twilight fans, which at last count, is about 23425345 of the friends I know. Ever watched those Simpsons episodes where Bart and Lisa goes “Are we there yet?” And Homer goes, “No.” and Bart and Lisa goes “Are we there yet?” And Homer goes, “No.” and Bart and Lisa goes “Are we there yet?” And Homer goes, “No.” and Bart and Lisa goes “Are we there yet?” And Homer goes, “No.” and Bart and Lisa goes “Are we there yet?” And Homer finally snaps and screams, “Yes, yes, YES!!!” Something of that sort happened. Guess who was Homer.

But it DID all work out for the best. I have a particularly soft spot for Jacob, because I find him ridiculously adorable.

I was a little stumped with the doll at first. I’ve been trying to wonder how to make him more Jacob-y or more wolf-y. I debated maybe making him a wolf form, but since I don’t even make patterns normally and just crochet as i go, I wasn’t sure if I could pull that off. And then I had a small brainstorm.

Yay, me.

For the most part, was based on the, of all things, illustrations from the Japanese version of the Twilight books. I didn’t really fancy short-haired Jacob and that was all they had of Taylor Lautner so far for the movieverse, and the long-haired manga art of Jacob in those books were rippin’ …. well.

Available at etsy shop, yay. I made several dolls all at once for a few friends, so right now, there’s about a billion jacob Blacks staring up at me from my bed…. okay not a billion, maybe a dozen or so. I haven’t really learned to count properly.

Bella….. shall be up next. Soon, hopefully. Been trying to figure out a more appropriate outfit that would be Bella-y in kind, but am slightly stumped. Perhaps movie poster version would be the safest bet?
